(Please Read through as we have a few important announcements)
The L-rd is faithful in all His ways. There are a few stories in the Bible that talk about how G-d allows us to go through some very hard times, but He does so in order for us to “Turn to Him”. In Isaiah, we read “The L-rd waits to be gracious to you”…. You see, The L-rd knows what you are going through, and is prepared to extend His Grace towards you. Are you ready to see His Grace? G-d then tells us that He will “exalt Himself to show mercy to you”. What does this mean? What does it mean for someone to be exalted? Last week, we touched on how Nicodemus was told by Yeshua that “As Moses lifted up the serpent [on a pole] in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. For G-d so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal Life.”
In the Old Testament in Isaiah, G-d waits to show His grace by exalting Himself to show mercy to us! “For the L-rd is a G-d of Justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.” He is reminding us that He is bringing justice by and through Himself so that we may be justified by Faith in Him. Following these words, G-d shows us that when we believe and cry out to Him, He will answer. And while we face the consequences of our actions on earth, He will show us the right way back to Him. “And though the L-rd gives you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher.” Yes, there are moments where we feel, or we think we know that G-d is not there, but the truth is that G-d is allowing you to grow in stature and grow in our weaknesses recognizing that He said “My Grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness”, “and your ear shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left”. G-d speaks to us to lead us, guide us, and convict us, but it always begins with our faith being fully devoted to G-d. In so we will be lead, as the scripture says, to “defile your carved idols… and images. You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them, “Be Gone!”
In all, G-d tells us that we are conditioned by what we have our faith in. If your Faith is in G-d, you will be made ready to receive G-d’s grace and mercy, He will hear your cry, and though you walk through trouble, you will be free from anything holding you back and gifted with eternal life! I know when I chose to put my Faith in G-d, G-d did save me, and now I can testify that His grace is sufficient for me, and His power is made known in my weakness!
Glory be to our L-rd G-d, Yeshua, the Messiah & King!
“Therefore the L-rd waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the L-rd is a G-d of Justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him. For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. And though the L-rd gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Then you will defile your carved idols overlaid with silver and your gold-plated metal images. You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them,”Be Gone!” - Isaiah 30:18-22
